Boiler Room

Stumbled on this the other day and it's definitely a good listen. DJ Nu-Mark with DJ Babu doing a set for the boiler room in LA in '16. They played each other's records instead of their own. All breaks.



This is DJ Shortkut in SF also doing a set for the boiler room in '14 (I think). Not sure what the boiler room thing is about, but looks like they throw some pretty good parties.

Gravediggaz Demo

This has been out there for a while, courtesy of Prince Paul's soundcloud, but yaaaahhhh here comes this Gravediggaz demo again. This track is crazy, love the beat, the vibe, everything. I was never too big on their stuff but this gets me amped. It's surprising this wasn't put on their album. This came up in my shuffle today and wanted to give it a shout. From Prince Paul's caption - "This is the First song we recorded as the Gravediggaz in 92" . It was the intro to our demo and it was actually recorded the day I introduced these guys to each other at my house . This track never made the album but It was one of my favorite productions. This was the track that started it all .. RIP Poetic . Enjoy"

Stretch & Bobbito 12-3-1998

This is the second to last official Stretch Armstrong Show, with Bobbito and Lord Sear holding it down in Stretch's absence. There's a lot of underground, backpack type stuff, mixed in with some old school and R&B, and also a session with Arabian Nights. As hectic Eclectic pointed out- if you're having trouble downloading from the page, go directly to the hulkshare page and try downloading from there. Sometimes it's difficult to download from the embed for some reason.

New York Live 4-24-1996

Shout to DJ Eclipse for posting this on his mixcloud. It's more portions from the New York Live show that featured DJ Muro's break set. Big Noyd, Ty Nitty, DJ Spinna and the Jigmastas were also in the studio that night. I guess I must have mislabeled the date on my tape, mine said the 18th and his has the 24th. Most likely Eclipse's date is accurate. I used to take clips from the Wednesday and Thursday shows, sometimes two consecutive weeks on the same tape, and get confused when labeling.

As the story goes, the album version of Represent on Nas' Illmatic is a remix. After Premier heard all the work going into the album, and all the beats that were getting placed, Premier was inspired to remix the track. If you haven't heard, peep it...

Stretch & Bobbito Hot 97 show featuring Hot Council and B-1. Stretch plays a Scooby Doo record for 5 minutes at the top of the show, and adds parts of it throughout the show. Lot of mic breaks and goofing around KCR style on this one.

Bobbito fills in for Stretch on this show, playing a mix of old school, demos, promos, a live Cold Crush show from 1981, and on the second half goes into a Kool G Rap tribute. Good show. Unfortunately not the full 4 hours, but most of it. Pretty sure this was an Aleph upload, so big shout.
