Re-Up: Halftime Show - July 2000 (Allies, CamRon, McGruff)

One of my favorite Halftime Shows right here, from July of 2000. I used to kill this tape. The show features DJ sets from Spictacular, J-Smoke, DJ Infamous, and DJ A-Trak (of the Allies) and a freestyle session with Camron, McGruff and a little bit of Jim Jones, along with DJ Riz on the mix. I think DJ AV was co-hosting but I didn't get much of the talking. Peace to DJ Eclipse who wasn't in the studio that night, and didn't have a copy of this audio.

Halftime 14th Anniversary Show

Peace to Eclipse for uploading this to his mixcloud. I was actually in the studio this night along with P Original (R.I.P.). It was a cool experience meeting two of my favorite DJ's growing up, and being able to stand in the studio I heard them broadcasting from weekly. This show is a banger, lot of classic freestyles from years past. Miss the Halftime show.

Re-Up: Half a Mill Freestyles

One MC who shows up on a lot of my old WYNU tapes is Half A Mill. I ripped a few of his freestyles from 1996 through 1999. There is one of them (Oct 96) where he rhymes for nearly 10 minutes without stopping. R.I.P. Half a Mill, one of BK's finest.

Halftime 5 Year Anniversary Show

This might be one of the last radio shows I recorded on a cassette. I think I retired my double deck shortly after this. This is WNYU's Halftime Show celebrating 5 years with Doug Infinite and Jaz-O on beats, a gang of MC's, and a few battle routines from DJ A-Trak. Peace to DJ Eclipse. This is one of the 'best of' theme shows they used to do on Halftime, from 2004. The focus of this show is between the years 1993-1997, and the featured guest is J-Live. Might be a few pauses on there. Not sure if I already uploaded this one, but enjoy..

Halftime 1999 (w/Truck Turner & 50 Cent)

Here goes another 30 minute clip of a Halftime Show from October 27, 1999 featuring Truck Turner and a pre-blowing up (and even pre getting shot 9 times) 50 Cent. Apparently these two had some on wax beef and were accidentally booked to do the Halftime Show on the same night. There was no conflict in the studio according to DJ Eclipse, but the two were taking shots at each other during their mic time.

For those who checked WNYU this Wednesday, you know the Halftime crew served up an amazing 14th anniversary show loaded with classic freestyle sessions from the early years of the show.
