Westwood Rap Exchange

This next show is courtesy of my boy David in Essex, UK, who traded me a bunch of old Tim Westwood Capitol Radio shows circa late 80's. He's given me permission to share this one, so all of you out there get blessed with some classic UK hip hop radio. Being from New Jersey, I was obviously never able to tune in and listen to the show live, but listening 20 years later they still sound fresh!

This one is a Marley Marl/Westwood rap exchange from August, 1989. You'll hear a young Tragedy (Intelligent Hoodlum) on the mic dropping some rhymes and also the Fat Boys with a little freestyle session and album promotion.

  1. An absolute pleasure sharing these with everyone. Got to be honest, I myself nabbed them from the internet years ago - I wasn't clever enough to keep all the Westwood shows I recorded back in the day.

Enjoy everyone, and big up to Kevin for his excellent blog, and lacing me with some fat mixes that make my journey to work that bit less depressing!

  4. I didn't actually up the file to mega upload, but the link does work for me now. From experience, I find that mega upload links sometimes take 24 hours to work correctly - only the Lord or Biggie will know why!

  5. Just grabbed this, used to dream about being able to listen to these in the late 80's, but unfortunately as a teenager in the midlands, all we had was local pirate radio (which I will be upping some of to my blog). Thanks for all the niceness
