INI

I haven't had that much time to
rip the joints lately, but I dug up something nice from my old WNYU New York Live tapes. It's a nice little freestyle from INI and Pete Rock, who were up there promoting the 'Fakin' Jacks' 12", one of the better 12"s to come out that year in my opinion, especially with the remix and Props on the B-side. Unfortunately these guys had label issues and didn't get to release the full length album out on Elektra in 1996, it was later put out on a bootleg orange label, and then officially released through Pete Rock on his Lost&Found series. For those who don't know, INI consists of Pete Rock's brother Grap Luva and Rob-O. Check the freestyles from 1996.

I've heard zshare is having some problems, does any know anything about this? I'm not sure if my links are working or what...

  1. zshare has been effing effed... SO FRUSTRATING.

That's why I'm all about Rapidshare. People are so cheap. Downloaders want $20,000 worth of music for $0. It's like, damn kid... just fork over $20 to keep it solid.

  2. that DOES suck. I'm not about to re-up all my joints. I actually have a rapidshare account but am hesitant to use for uploads because most people won't pay, and if I ever decide to stop paying for the rapidshare i think they stop hosting. I might just do direct downloading like on your page. probably what I should have been doing all along

  3. That's a good question. I don't know if Rapidshare shuts your hosted files when you stop subscribing.

At the end of the day, a lot of these free hosting services will be folding over the next few years. Soon, I imagine, the choice will be between subscription services like Rapidshare and using torrents.

There will always be short term hosts, but I don't think its economical for most companies to provide long term hosting.

I expect torrents to capture big portions of the market because, like you said... most people won't pay.

  4. Nice radio rip!

Graps verses were pretty much all new but pete's verses were from the INI track "Live To Live"
